Just be careful with this - if you alter anything about the original material in SketchUp - saturation, colour etc... SketchUp outputs it's own 72dpi version of the altered texture instead of the full res original. I always make changes only with a,b,c or gamma within Skindigo, anything other than that you really need to use photoshop and create a new texture to suit your needs.bubs wrote:I discovered an easier way though - simply uncheck the box "use maximum texture size" under Sketchup Model Preferences. Indigo will still see the orignal PNG but sketchup will downsample to 1024x1024. Just have to be careful about filepaths etc.

This sounds odd.ak-sam wrote: *Render mode with foreground alpha doesn't appear to work 100% of the time (sometimes the scene becomes very bright). Can this mode be selected by choosing "environment type = none"? - my intention is to render the scene as normal, but with a transparent background instead of sky & ground).
This may be a problem with reinhard tonemapping, or it may be a bug.
Can you send me a scene showing this problem?

From my experience I suggest that Reinhard is the bad guy here!OnoSendai wrote:This may be a problem with reinhard tonemapping, or it may be a bug.

Crap, that's awesome. I need that so bad!OnoSendai wrote:Why yes, yes it can:ak-sam wrote: One more idea occurred to me:
Can Indigo be made to scatter objects on a surface? eg blades of grass?
Right now I use Sketchup's "Fur" plugin to scatter simple line components which swap out to little clumps of grass - but its a bit haphazard (stray clumps) and still generates 10,000s of components. The procedural materials I've tried don't look very good.

Is this a feature for Indigo 4 or can we use it now/soon?
Also
I don't know if this helps.. it looks decent to me (not too 'perfect'). Would be fantastic to have this built in to indigo as a default option.OnoSendai wrote:Thanks. It's surprisingly difficult to make realistic grass.wlf_alex wrote:I like it !

Its in Indigo since quite some time, but the only exporter that supports it is afaik the one for Revit...ak-sam wrote:Is this a feature for Indigo 4 or can we use it now/soon?

Done for next release.Pibuz wrote:One request: when switching to monochrome render would it be possible to exclude the specular obects?
The classic case is when one has to evaluate the lighting conditions of an indoor scene, but if there are glasses at the windows the light won't come through.
Re: Wishlist
wonderful! thanks!
Re: Wishlist
Grass presets and Environment map presets would be killer!
Oh and some more camera presets - I find the "Sony DSC003_..." settings a little confusing and difficult to replicate nicely.
"Outdoor afternoon" and "Evening sunset" would be more useful to me. When combined with EXR/HRD maps and presets for this , we could get some excellent results very quickly.
Cheers!
Oh and the later versions are going well _ I'm about to download SKP 2015..fingers are crossed.

Re: Wishlist
I was wondering if it would be possible to bring back the shadow pass, it would be useful to have the exporter option for animations.
I am also gonna throw another vote for build your own scatter presets, (I am sure that I'm not up to date on this)
And in "Query Material Types", could it also list if each material is using bump, displace, normal, etc. and maybe if there is any broken links within the material.
Thanks for the hard work, especially getting out the skp2015 update right away (nice of them to go 64bit).
Looking forward to 4 and gpu rendering!

Re: Wishlist
I'd really appreciate a 75 (or 66,66)% zoom level.

Re: Wishlist
A saved library of Indigo Settings would be nice, like a template.
Skindigo saves settings as "default" but what about saving them to our own preference, eg "Outdoor Scene with Env Map" or "Object with Artificial Lighting and Foreground Alpha"
I guess I could make sketchup files to act as templates which (I think?) would save indigo settings for each file..
But sometimes 1 file is used to generate different types of renders.
It's also diffiult rememberign the exact settings I used last time, so If I need to update a render, Its virtually impossible if i've changes some settings
Camera settings, scattering presets, and other preferences should also be saveable.
Cheers!

Hi.
How about... "Two point perspective "? I've been trying to figure out how the shift lens work and i don't have a clue so far...it is kinda..hard . I think it would be nice to have the 2 point perspective just right from the Sketchup's screen

Re: Wishlist
It would be nice to have a direct .Pigs exporter ..so you wont have the need to reload the scene in indigo to save it as .pigs
