I cant get a my material to become a diffuse transmiter. even when opacity is 0% in sketchup. There's a bitmap applied on the surface but doesn't work even without ... Tried it in many ways but no solution!
Someone to help?
I am on Win32 and tried with all indigi and SUindigo versions I get (from 1.0 to 1.1.18)

Archigraphix, hi!

Follow these steps:
1. Model a single-sheet geometry
2. Make a new SU material. Simple colour for your firts tests.
3. Give it some transparency. 40% will work for yor first tests.
4. Double click the mat to make the SkIndigo Mat panel pop up.
5. The mat panel shows that the mat is automatically switched to specular.
6. Change it to "DIFFUSE" again.
7. Render the scene.

Tip 1: read the skindigo tutorials which you can find in the SkIndigo forum. Some things have changed but a basic knowledge of SkIndigo won't hurt.

Tip 2: not so sure, but I think I've written something about diffuse transmitters in my FAQ. Download it and give it a read.

thanx pibuz
in fact I've already read all I can about the subject. I mean your wonderful FAQ and the tutorials "getting started" and "advanced settings". they are really cool to learn Skindigo.
Diffuse transmiters are confusing for me because transparence is absolutly not comparable to the sketchup one. I mean even with a 0% opacity I cant see objects through a diffuse transmiter materials isn it strange? I can see the shadow of the object (if I put a light behind) but not at all the object.
When you look at lamp shade it seems to me that there is different degree of tranparence..? Perhaps there's not enough presets materials in Skindigo some kind of "voilage" would be very welcome it would be between a diffuse transmiter and a thin glass. Perhaps should also take a look at materials in the download section here to learn how to get that kind of "voilage" effect.
I hope my english is not to difficult to read.
I am also surprised to see so less activity in the skindigo forum...when the software is so interesting for sketchup users.
thanx again Pibuz and other Skindigo gurus for the time you spent for all the help and tutorial stuff

Hi Archi!
...reading what you've written, I guess you haven't been able to get your desired result yet.
Maybe posting a simple scene and your result would help us a little in helping you

sorry not answering sooner pibuz...
Very buzy on other jobs...
I will try to make an Skp to explain my problem later.
But the thing is simple: I wanted to obtain a very light blind (we call it voilage in french) I mean its a fabric material. You can easily see through when your eye is near and it becomes less tranparent when you are far from it...
I hope you see what kind material I try to achieve. Not so easy to explain in english for me.
I'll post a Skp soon
Thanx to help.

so I am on a WIP using Skindigo.
here its not about diffuse transmiters but still about transparencie problems.
I have to render a glass bloc wall...but not satisfied with the result the shadows are not what I expected!
there should be some light passing through no?
Here's the image and the skp.
Happy testing!

Hi Archi! I messed around a little with your model and I fixed up some things.
Here it is. Tell me if it's all right.

Thank you Pibuz....but what's exponent value??? And why in briqsamba material do you active media attributes??? What are??? Thank you!
