I have the following problem:

- I use a specialiced 3D modelling application, which has the possiblity to export the result as .SKP file
- this SKP File can be opened and modified via Sketchup without any problem
- But what I have to do is to define the indigo material parameters for each material
- Actually I have to define these material settings for each exportet model

Therefor my Questions:
- Is there any possiblity to automativally map the Sketchup and Indigo Material?
If yes:
- How does it work?
- What do I have to do to reach this goal?

At the moment I have to assign the right material settings via graphical user Interface. The exported Model contains always the same material names. The number of possilbe materials is round about 40. Therefor it would be really nice, to automate this material settings. I only want to define my Indigo material parameters once and everything else should work without additional interaction. With a possiblity of automatic mapping between the Sketchup and Indigo material the whole process of rendering could nearly fully automated.

I hope that anybody has a solution for this challenge.

it'd be nice if you told us what softwares are you trying to connect..

Also, for me it's not clear if you're referring to MAPPING problems, or issues related to link a SkIndigo material prepared in software 1 also to be read as Indigo material in software 2..

let me try to give you some more details:

The software is used to design furniture (e. g. cabinets).
It has the possibility to store the designed furniture as Sketchup-Model.

The size and material of the furniture will vary.
Therefore I get a huge number of different furniture and Sketchup-Models (Round about 20 per Day)
But the export is always working in the same way
The Sketchup Model contains all required materials
If I open the Sketchup Material Editor, I see all the sketchup materials, which were created by the furniture design software

What I have to do then is the following:
- I have to define for each Sketchup Material, which is part of my furniture, the indigo material parameters
- And this is my "problem"
- Because the huge number of my furniture Sketchup-Models, I have to define these material settings quite a lot
- For Example: If I have 20 Furnitures a day with round about 40 materials per Furniture, I have to make 800 Indigo material definitions per day

Perhaps there is the following solution:
- I will define all my furniture materials once as Indigo Materials and store them in my local material Database
- I "teach" Indigo how to map the different Materials with small mapping table:
Sketchup Material Name "ABC 123" = Indigo Material Name "XYZ 123"
Sketchup Material Name "ABC 456" = Indigo Material Name "XYZ 4711"
.....
