Hello All,

I'm new to this render, and a long-time user of SU.

Currently, I run a 64-bit Linux host running Windows 32-bit in a virtual machine.

I use SU natively within that Windows VM, and hope to do my rendering on my host box (the Linux 64-bit OS).

So my process is to build out my SU scene, use SkIndigo to export the scene to my Linux host, and... in theory... open and render that scene in Indigo RT.

HOWEVER... the problem appears to be that meshes in the resulting export are all relative to the originating box, and so the import into Indigo RT fails with the following:

Scene parsing error: Error loading model 'C:\Users\richbl\AppData\Local\Temp/ba2eb3c8-57e6-4554-8cbc-902bf47621ff.igmesh': Failed to open file 'C:/Users/richbl/AppData/Local/Temp/ba2eb3c8-57e6-4554-8cbc-902bf47621ff.igmesh' for reading. (In element 'mesh', around line 3, column 9)
Indigo version: Indigo RT v3.4.18, Linux 64-bit build.
No metadata.

Is it not possible to export scenes between machines, as I had hoped to?

You will need to pack the scene (open in Indigo, File, Save As, select Packed Indigo scene) which will create a PIGS with relative paths.

Thanks for responding. Yes, that solves the dependency issue.

However, in order to do this, I'd have to have a local instance of Indigo RT running on my VM so I can export through SkIndigo and save as PIG (as you noted).

This would be reasonable as long as I can continue to use the trial version of Indigo (past the 30 day window), really for nothing more than generating the PIG files (unless, of course SkIndigo can generate PIGs natively, of which I'm not aware). Else, it seems as if I'd have to purchase an instance for the VM and for the host OS, yes?

You should be able to save a PIGS file fine with the trial version.
