Environment Map can't set together with exit portal?
Re: Environment Map can't set together with exit portal?
Exact same Problem here!
Reinhard works
Camera does not
Env map is bright enouph, because without exit portal the scene is bright.
Exit portal + Sun also works.
It seems to be a bug, because in Sketchup 3.0.1.14 it still works perfect.
Thanks for your help!

Don't use emission scale for EnvMaps together with EPs.williamhhf wrote:Ok, i upload a new scene sharing with all of you guys, see what is wrong from me, TQ!
Using Exit Portals afaik maps the outside emitter on the EP mesh so emission scale becomes effected.
Simply use Base emission with uniform with a a value of around 200.000, that should work

Re: Environment Map can't set together with exit portal?
you need to deactivate emission scale and set Base emission to uniform with value of 100k. Should be possible in the marked area.
I'm have no clue about Skindigo so I only can tell about features that are Indigo supported... I hope they are also for the exporter...

Re: Environment Map can't set together with exit portal?
If the same scene is showing with reinhard tonemapping, and not showing in camera tonemapping this is clearly an exposure issue. Your EPs seem to work fairly good.
Dealing with EXR maps can be VERY tricky in Indigo, because realscale values go somehow to hell
First thing, try disabling the emitters for a while (just not to mess around with too many variables): you'll re-add them later. Then, change the emission scale value to a ridiculous value such as 10.000.000 (try not to change the camera parameters in the first place: btw, before shooting up the material values, you should play a little with EV value, ISO and shutterspeed in order get aligned with a photographer's kind of approach..).
See what happens, you should be able to see something.

Re: Environment Map can't set together with exit portal?
You have to change the scale value for the environment emission map texture to a high value (in my example: 100.000.000). After this, you can fine tune with the exposure value in the Indigo GUI...

Re: Environment Map can't set together with exit portal?
Hello Everyone
i haven t been here for a while because everything worked well untuil this :
I have been trying to make ENV map work with EP and the result is :
WHen i use ENV map and No EP, the scene is correctly exposed
When i use ENV map With EP, the scene is totally Over exposed, even if i set env emission value to 0.00000000001 or anything... same result as image : totally white
(The env map is a texture that is in the model, i will see with a file not in the model; like an exr or hdr external file in another test)
otherwise, with sun + sky, it works perfect.
see joint images (Exit portal is EP layer)
Any clue ?
cheers everyone !

Re: Environment Map can't set together with exit portal?
otherwise, i just tested with other environment settings and it works well.
I have a little request : when i render with "sketchup background color", the backgroud color goes on the First active light layer, and it is quite annoying, because for example, i have "lightbulbs" on layer 0 and "neon" on layer 1, the background color goes on "lightbulbs" layer, and when i render, i cannot work them separately
could we have in a future release of skindigo, the ability to choose the "sketchup background color" layer please ?
cheers !

Exit portals not rendering?
Hi buddy,
I'm having the same nightmare with portals...just can't get them to render no matter what I try!!
I've followed various tutorials and nothing seems to work, hope somebody can help me.
Regards
Chris
Ps, Can't attach a Sketchup file to this forum which seems very strange too!!

Re: Environment Map can't set together with exit portal?
I'm no SketchUp user, but maybe these (older) tutorials do help:
https://www.indigorenderer.com/document ... s-sketchup
or this Video:

Zip your scene to upload it, that will work for sure

You have to be aware that portals might not work as expected even when set up correctly:
