Hey guys
I'm having a little trouble exporting my model, i get this error report:
SceneLoaderExcep: Failed to load texture '/Applications/Indigo.app/Contents/Resources/TX_default/fencing_iron.png': LibPNG error: IDAT: CRC error
I've searched my model, this texture isn't in their, has happened with a couple of models any help would be great.
Thanks - john

Sometimes, when using components from the warehouse, you can run into some that have sort of "hidden" maps. Try exploding the components you downloaded from the warehouse and see if some more SU materials show up.

aha!
that happened to me once. It was a hidden texture in a component from the warehouse as well.
Damn this forum is resourceful!

I would like to get to the bottom of this error, as it seems to be common.
John, can you please send me that texture (fencing_iron.png) at
nick@indigorenderer.com ?
Thanks!

Hi Nick!
Sometimes the problem is that we don't see a "fencing_iron.png" at all. It is a SketchUp issue. Sometimes there are some textures which don't show up in the SU material list. Generally these come from the warehouse, where someone uploaded a don't-know-how-and-from-which-application exported component

Hi Pibuz,
If the texture is completely missing, I would expect Indigo to say 'could not open file for reading' or similar, instead of complaining about the the IDATs or CRC errors.

Weird. I have never heard of these 'hidden' textures before. If someone knows of a model from the warehouse that has one of these hidden textures, I would like to test. Thanks.

Those are quite strange issues, Nick and Dale.
I once found that on a TV component, don't recall exactly which one..
I think that on some level the texture IS actually present in the file (because it's visualized, after all), but nontheless it's doesn't get exported or I don't know...
Next time I find something similar I'll link you guys to the model.
Thanks!

Hi
sorry for the late reply just been swamped, thats the thing, we don't really use models from the warehouse, we do both interior and product design and baisicly on this interior we'd been asked to fully kit it out with bespoke items so had to make them ourselfs,
and nick even when i do a search through the mac i'm on i can't find the .png ill try exporting another model which had the same problem and send the image over.
oh and thanks for the help
Thanks - John

Hi John_m, perhaps let's put it this way:
Pibuz wrote:Sometimes, when using components [...], you can run into some that have sort of "hidden" maps. Try exploding the components [...] and see if some more SU materials show up.
It may be sufficient to have the model made on a different Sketchup rig to allow this issue to happen ?
Sometimes, external meshes formats (as
obj) may refer to unexisting textures I believe.
