Indigo Competition July-Aug '08 "Imaginary Friends"
Welcome to a new edition of the Indigo Competition.
The topic for this round: "Imaginary Friends"
Entries must be submitted in the thread to this effect in the competition forum.
The 3 winners (1st, 2nd and 3rd (Gold, Silver and Bronze)) will be voted for in this same competition forum on the first week of August. This leave you guys with 25 days to model (and render) your scene.
GENERAL RULES:
-------------------------
- All entries must be submitted after the 6st of July 2008
and before the 31st of August 2008 (at 11:59PM Greenwhich Time)
- You must stick to the given topic "Imaginary Friends".
- All images must be rendered with Indigo.
- The choice of modeling and image processing software is open.
- You can not post older work (which is already in our gallery)
- You can only submit 1 image per user.
- Submit only the final image. As once your work is posted, no going back is allowed.
- Any artwork not created by yourself MUST be mentioned. This should/will be taken into account during voting.
- To submit your entry, please use the form at the bottom of this post.
- If you take textures from the material database, please mention this. It is not something to be avoided, just say so (it somewhat falls under the category of "tools used").
- Use of render farm is allowed.
TOPIC SPECIFIC RULES & NOTES:
-------------------------
- Concept can be based on (or a copy of) existing characters, though you are strongly encouraged to come up with your own ideas. (and try to avoid imitating the work of other members of this forum, as it is hard to track who posted which of their work files. This is to avoid cheating.)
-Setting for this scene is completely open. You can leave the surroundings vacant if you wish. There are no restrictions.
-No specific lighting requirements either.
ENTRY SUBMISSION FORM:
-------------------------
Nickname: <your nickname>
Version of Indigo used: <Indigo version>
Rendering time / CPU's: <time rendered and on how many CPU's>
List of tools used (and external artwork, with links):
<blender, 3DS Max, photoshop, etc...>
Your inspiration for the image (if applicable, the message it conveys):
<short piece of text>
-------------------------
Good luck to all participants.
P.S: Could a mod change the name of this forum (and sticky this topic) please. Thank you.
P.P.P.S: Yes I like colors, and yes I know it looks like a friggin' rainbow, but the sections are more easily distinguished this way.
