A highly detailed, untextured and unilluminated scene will be made available in several formats, and the rest is up to you - materials, lighting and final beauty renders.
The competition starts on Monday the 13th of August, and entries can be submitted no later than Thursday the 6th of September.
We're really looking forward to seeing what people do with this great scene (graciously provided by Heiko Schmidt / Impulse)!

About the scene:
Scene is provided by Heiko Schmidt / Impulse: http://www.impulse-arts.org/
Use of the scene data, in whole or in part, is restricted to non-commercial use only. Some of the models are freely available on the internet, and not subject to this restriction, however please contact us regarding their use if you are unsure.
Some rendering tips for this scene:
- When rendering with sun+sky (or an environment map), make sure you remove the glass from the windows. Sunlight(or generally small emitters) through glass is a tricky problem for unbiased renderers. Glass acceleration helps, but it will render much faster without the glass and the visual difference is usually not noticable.
- Use exit portals when rendering this scene with sun+sky (or an environment map).
Note that if you want to keep the glass, exit portals are not a good choice (it becomes a tricky problem as well).
