hi everyone..
look this is my problem, or lets say my doubt ..i have a scene qith a tunnel..is very long the tunnel..and i planning to do and animation in it..but i dont know how to light it well so it looks realistic and
nice..
questions:
1a.how many lights should i put?
1b.which type of lights?
2.should i used Global Illumination ,Final Gathering, or both?
pd:
my tunnel model..unly has 2 part where the light can get in the two entries
(the inside suppose to be lighten by the light models inside the tunnel)
here some tests i did ..with any good result:
help with lighting of a scene?
Re: help with lighting of a scene?
This forum is about Indigo Renderer and using it within XSI aka Softimage.
Indigo is a unbiased renderengine, there are no things like GI or Final Gather.
However, to answer your question:
If you want to render a animation with FG&GI you'll get veeeery long rendertimes, better to fake the GI-look as good as possible using bouncelights for example etc.
The most realistic lamps would be Area lights, but then again your rendertime will go way up.
I think Point or Spotlights with Shadowmaps would deliver the best looking results compared to their rendertime.
