I think that lightwave is the big marginalized render software, many GNU renders engine such us indigo for example that has a lot of converters but hasn't got the lightwave version. New version of lightwave has a lot of changes (node editor, new materials) and I think that indigo would be a great render engine if an exporter for lightwave can export all new changes. Thank you.

Here is a little test of node editor.

Well, something like that but more sophisticated

when the exporter detects that some or more spotlight has the volumetric feature turned on it will create a bounding volume that contains the lights with the suitable mesh emitters (but the volume medium would be shared between lights at this moment), and it will count for the soft edge parameter of spotlight ...

try that on other exporters!

stay tuned  8)

Hi,

Due that jay3d doesn't answer, I started my own Lightwave to Indigo exporter. I am going to calling it Magenta! :) I hope there is not problem with that! :)

Now, where I can find a list of all xml parameters, description and useand use? Aside the manual.

I've been looking on Blendigo script and I see that a few that the manual shows, are commented on Blendigo script, so I assume those are not valid anynmore?

Any help would be appreciated.

Best regards,
David

Hi Somnis, if you download the stable version of indigo 0.8. In this file there is a pdf doc with xml format. I read this pdf and I can tell to you that this pdf has information about xml.

Here is too more information about indigo.

http://www.indigorenderer.com/joomla/in ... &Itemid=69

I hope you can make an exporter for our dear lw. I think thats is the only 3d software that hasn't got an exporter.

Hi,

That is the information I am using now. But I notice for example that a parameter in that PDF:

<large_mutation_prob>0.2</large_mutation_prob> I think was this one.

It is not exported on the Blendigo exporter code. So I am asumming maybe it is because has been deprecated at some point?

Best regards,
David

It's not deprecated, it's just that renderer_settings elements are not compulsory, they're just for overriding values..

Hi Somnis, any news of the lw exporter ? I hope to test lw with this exporter.

Here is the result of the lw scene (gibox) make with Indigo. I don´t know yet how can I set up the glass surfaces and smooth meshes. But it's all right to see the result of gi. The camera position isn't in the same position because Lw hasn't got yet his exporter and I have to convert the scene to obj and test with blendigo. The scene hasn't got any light and has only a color background.
