Dev-thread trueSpace2Indigo v0.7 Expoter

Post by Johny » Wed Apr 25, 2007 2:43 am

Hello all trueSpace 7.11 and Indigo 0.7 user, on my spare time I make this trueSpace to Indigo 0.7 Exporter. Still on early version and habe some bug. So I post here with hope can get some input and some help from others trueSpace7 script writer to make this exporter work better.

Please feel free to make modification to this code and also please post source modifications here, so we can make this exporter support all Indigo features.

Below I attached trueSpace7.11 RsScn file with example how to use this exporter.
Note:
1. IMEBank obj is bank of Indigo Material Editor. You must put all material inside this IMEBank. Also you must put this IMEBank on scene root.
2. To paint an object with above material, you need "IndigoMaterialName" obj inside the object you want to paint. Indigo Default material is use if you dont put this 'IndigoMaterialName" obj inside the object. (at Link Editor, look inside plane obj for reference).
3. You also must put Expoter itseft on scene root.

Hope above note can help you on how to use this exporter.

Enjoy!

Aha.
That login-problem should be solved ;)
Add a direct link there, but also mention, that they will need to get logged in, to get help.

Is this only for Truespace 7? If it worked with the Truespace 6.6 demo, I might give it a try for fun just to make a change from Blender (which I use all the time for serious work).

I recently downloaded the trial of 7.5 and it looks like a few differences between it and earlier versions like 6.6.

Even after going through all these threads, I still don't have a clue where to put that exporter or how to make it work properly. Anybody care to enlighten a 7.5 newbie? (The trial version does not include a manual or any details on any of the features, like jscript)

here's the steps

1. Right click on scene library for open a pop up menu.

2. from pop up menu, select import. this will open import library openfile dialog.

3. from Import Library file dialog, select folder where you save tS2Indigo exporter; click on it for open it.

4. you'll see new icon on scene library. this's our tS2Indigo exporter. double click on it will open the test scene of tS2Indigo exporter.

5. After tS2Indigo exporter scene is opened, on LE window you can find panel for the exporter. before you click on 'export' button, you need to click on 'rescan scene for cameras' button first for select active camera as Indigo active camera.

Hope this help.

I got it to work... Thank you very much for the walk-through! It was very helpful.

I may be able to now use 7.5trial to import and render out portions of scenes from 6.6 8)

Only I think if you use a scene constructed in TS4 and then load it into TS7. I don't recall that TS4 is sophisticated enough for such scripting or exporting.

Why don't you just download the latest version, 7.6, for free instead?

http://www.caligari.com

That's not a typo or warez; Microsoft bought Caligari, and as is their habit of doing, are giving the software away for a while.
