old bug appears from nowhere

Post by zio » Fri Mar 13, 2015 11:22 pm

Hi there, long time no indigo for me.

I loaded my old maya animation and I realized that the rotation is inverted.
I was sure that everything was fine before.

I installed mti again and the rotation is inverted. installed the latest 2015 MtI and also again.

Anyone having this issue?
Seems to be a small code problem, can anyone pinpoint the code line or code lines were it might be wrong?

Thanks.

perhaps some gimbal lock issue; the object at a rest position is rotating as expected until its position is stored on file with a small numerical bias that makes it eligible to rotate counter-wise.

I believe that even the pre-2015 mti would deliver a consistant result in this regard. Reset the objects initial position perhaps in order to make sure.

when I start a new scene no objects appear in render and no file is written to the disk.

Iv got this warning in script editor:

Code: Select all

Forget the previous post. Everything is fine now with a new scene. Do not know why.

But with the old scene that errors in previous post appear on script editor.
And the objects still rotate inverted.

Problem solved!

MtI do not support up axiz as Z, it must be Y.

Hi zio, sorry about the delay with me answering. Also I'm glad that you sorted this issue all by yourself since I would probably not have figured this out in the meantime.

Concerning animations, z up scenes are not managed by the former mti indeed. Static scenes might handle them tho. It has been more than one year since I stopped devellopng mti, and more than that since I digged that code chunk.

Happy rendering !
