Installation Problem - "Talk to Indigo"

Post by tonicenergy » Fri Jul 27, 2012 2:26 pm

Hello Everyone! I'm new to Indigo and i'm excited to hopefully dive in. However I'm having difficulties Opening Indigo using the Maya shelf buttons.

Installed mti_3.2.12.1 into Maya 2011 x64 (running Windows 7 x64) and the Plug-In/Indigo Shelf seems to be working....

Running Indigo Renderer v.3.2.12 x64 (stand-alone)

In Maya, when i click on "Talk to Indigo" i get this error:
// Error: No object matches name: mti_settings.mti_saveLocation

or "Options" button
// Error: No object matches name: mti_settings

I have attempted to wipe and re-install the plugin several times without success. Hopefully this is a easy and quick fix :) Thank you in advance to anyone that can shed some light into this problem. Take Care

Hi Tonic,

MtI 3.2.12.1 does indeed have a scene initialisation problem.

You should find in the MtI menu (in the main Maya menu bar) an option named "Force initialization" meant to circumvent that temporary issue.

Please use it with any new scene destinated to Indigo until the next MtI release.

Thank you CTZn for your lightning fast reply! However i cannot access the MTI Options Menu (wrench icon) in the Maya "Indigo" Shelf/Menu Bar.

This is the error I receive:

mti_CHK; mti_UI_settings;
// Error: No object matches name: mti_settings //

Thank you CTZ for your legendary patience and kindness. I will try to install an older version of MTI, maybe i can get lucky! :P

Nice, looks like v.3252 (MTI EXPORTER) is working in Maya 2011 x64, clicked on "Talk to Indigo" within Maya and it opened Indigo automatically :) I did get lucky, count my blessings! hehehe

Now I can finally start learning Indigo, FINALLY! :)

Thank you for the kind words Tonic, somehow I have to compensate for my lack of skills in development :)

Is this after having clicked on the "Force initialisation" menu itemfound into the main Maya menu ?

Below a screen capture exposing that menu. I expect MtI 3.2.12.1 to function normally then after for the current scene, including the shelves icons. 3.2.5.2 should be okay though.

WOW! I uninstalled mti_3.2.5.2 and re-installed mti_3.2.12.1, expecting the same old problems, but miraculously when i clicked on "Talk to Indigo" i didn't get the red error in my script editor. I also have a new "Menu Set" item, MtI. This is great, everything works! and i didn't touch a single thing hahaha :) This new MrI menu will be interesting to experiment with. I hope to see some Maya to Indigo Video Tutorials soon!

Thank you CTZn for uploading a screenshot & helping a new big fan of Indigo, it really helped :)

I have a serious debt in this regard, I will deliver some this week.

I'll also resume doc and exporter developments wich have been stalled too long.
