Re: Cindigo Wishlist
I've tried it only with simple color/texture parameter, but takes work well with Indigo. At least in that field. I'm more into instancing problem, right now.

HAIR without generating mesh like octane! I need this a lot.

Hi all
How about scattering?
Something like a tag on objects to scatter and point to mesh to scatter on. It's rather tedious to code by hand every time.

Re: Cindigo Wishlist
What's wrong with the MoGraph? It offers unlimited possibilities with xpresso, too. Is there a difference, performance wise?

Re: Cindigo Wishlist
Do mograph use instances like scatter?? or am I doing something wrong..
- I get multiple objects in scene menu (clutters scene)
- being able to adjust number of objects in indigo vs (heavy) geometry in c4d is a +

Re: Cindigo Wishlist
Yes Mograph should use instances, even if you scale them differently, but you need to enable them:Nikolaj Knudsen wrote:Do mograph use instances like scatter?? or am I doing something wrong.

Re: Cindigo Wishlist
OK - thanks for clarifying
Still it could be a nice feature. Being able to control the scattering on in indigo ui and not have all instances listed as independent objects.
Easier using tags then Notepad

Re: Cindigo Wishlist
Yes, you are right for sure! Don't forget the export-time, that should be zero for Indigo ScatterNikolaj Knudsen wrote:Still it could be a nice feature.

Yes, it could be really more confortable with the scattter's tag !
it's possible to configure the scatter only once for a scene and attach it to the final render file
you need to separate objects used by scatter on a layer in C4D.
turn off output for other layers
launch the scene to Indigo
Stop the rendering
save as the file from Indigo in .pigs format
expand this .pigs to a safe place
add the scatter code to this .igs
adjust the scatter, add target and prototypes etc
change first tag and last tag to <scenedata>
go back to C4D
turn off output for scatter layer
launch the scene to Indigo
Stop the rendering
open this .igs file
add a path to the scatter file
<include><pathname>PATH_TO_THE_scat.igs</pathname><offset_uids>true</offset_uids></include>
save and render !
here a new calamar's shot using it for plants on the ground

Re: Cindigo Wishlist
Oh dear. Nice one! Scattering from Cindigo GUI would be really nice.

Thx zeitmeister !
an other one, with a different ground
this model in 4 parts
with 3 scatters : one for fruit, one for trunk, one for all parts (4 <proto_object_group>)

that's a lot of lemons
Re: Cindigo Wishlist
Area light is not transparent to sunlight. It is impossible to turn off the visibility of the shadow, visibility in reflection or diffusion. Very few lessons on the system of light sources of Indigo in Cinema 4d.

Re: Cindigo Wishlist
if you use a null material it will be transparent. I know it won't be the light material, but you might as well add a plane, and apply the material to it with light as parent.
Re: Cindigo Wishlist
Thank you, good advice. But it is desirable to manipulate light sources. Very great progress (especially the GPU), but there are very few lessons. And the tag of compositing is too limited.
