Hola Yves !

Another small bug :
I use SurfaceSpread for scattering of objects on the surface. To reduce the number of objects in viewport of cinema 4d i change Editor Weight parameter. Cindigo render works correctly,
Image

but render with indigo shows wrong number of objects that equals the viewport number of objects.

Could you please fix the problem if possible ?

Hm,
don't have the plugin here at work... will test it at home tonight.
Lower editor resultion works fine with MoGraph instances... strange.

[EDIT]
Ah, you are using the editor weight within the pugin!
Never tested that, but FastFur f.e. works fine with Indigo...
[/EDIT]
Cheers, David

This doesn't seem to be my fault.

The SurfaceSPREAD generator object does not generate the geometry for an external render when it's asked to do so.

You can also see this when you select the SurfaceSPREAD object and press 'C' (convert). It will only generate the editor representation (although it should generate the render representation).

Nah, not my bug either ;-)

When generating the clones, I check for CheckIsRunning(CHECKISRUNNING_EDITORRENDERING) and CheckIsRunning(CHECKISRUNNING_EXTERNALRENDERING). And if either of those is TRUE, I use the full amount of clones. Of neither of them is TRUE, I include the Editor Weight. I currently can't recall if CHECKISRUNNING_EXTERNALRENDERING is set when rendering with Vray, but obviously it's not when rendering with Indigo.

Cheers,
Jack

Hi Jack,

great to hear from you :)

The problem does not occur when rendering with Indigo, it only occurs when exporting the scene to disk (for rendering with the standalone version of Indigo).

In that case neither CheckIsRunning(CHECKISRUNNING_EDITORRENDERING) nor CheckIsRunning(CHECKISRUNNING_EXTERNALRENDERING) would return true.

I use the Hierarchy class to rebuild the scenes caches and pass BUILDFLAGS_EXTERNALRENDERER to it, normally a generator plugin should generate the render representation.

Not sure if bug is the right word, sorry if it sounded harsh. It's just that the behaviour is a bit unexpected (unconventional?) :)

If you want, we can discuss this privately, just email me: yves@indigorenderer.com

Cheers!

No problem! Bug is not harsh, as a developer I hear that word all the time :D

I`ll take a look at the buildflags. Since a customer recently discovered a bug in SurfaceSPREAD`s vertex map evaluation, I`ll have to release an update anyway. I just can`t guarantee when that will be.

Hola Jack !

Thanks for replay. I hope this small "bug" will be fixed any way. SurfaceSpread is very useful plug in and it will work with Indigo very well.

For example, SurfaceSpread in mine archiviz scene :
