Hi All,
I'm just testing all kind of things in Cindigo and now I stumbled upon a problem.
I have a simple room with a window. I want to place an image plane outside so it looks like your looking to a forest or whatever..
When I place an exit portal behind the window all I see is just the sky and the image plane is completely ignored.
How can I solve this?
Do I have to do this in post? is it possible to render out an Alpha?
The C4D compositing tag and Object buffer I can't use with Cindigo...
Peace,
Rich_Art.

Re: Background image and exit portals
Unfortunately, using Exit Portals blocks out anything behind them, as they 'become' the background. Looks like something you'll have to do in post. You could use an alpha rendering to composite an image in there, however that doesn't work if you have glass in the window.

Yes, thats how EPs workRich_Art wrote:When I place an exit portal behind the window all I see is just the sky and the image plane is completely ignored.
You can model a kind of open Box behind your window to place stuff inside, like for a balcony etc.Rich_Art wrote:How can I solve this?
Yes, there is a alpha mode in the render modes, check them!Rich_Art wrote:Do I have to do this in post? is it possible to render out an Alpha?

For masks I swap back to C4D internal renderer and render using the Object ID, that works quite well

But then I can't use the EP's..You can model a kind of open Box behind your window to place stuff inside, like for a balcony etc.
Yes I use that kind of tricks also when rendering with Vray for example. For masks I swap back to C4D internal renderer and render using the Object ID, that works quite well

You lack in fantasy my friendRich_Art wrote:But then I can't use the EP's..
Se attached example of a terrace, the transparent mesh is asignt with a EP Tag, there is NO reason why EPs should be planes only
