can't use environnement map

Hello everyone,
I would like to render my scene using a test exr map. I applied this one (using a material "diffuse") on a sphere that I edited. Then I put in my material the Environment tab indigo (exr). Out when I run an update on my Indigo render exr does not appear. Thank you for your help.

set the emission mode to uniform and the Value for it to 1 million, then you should get a light material that actually is bright

Thank youZ OM-B I'll try that

its basicly a issue of multiple light materials having massivly different Limonous Flux (adjustable in emission directly too).
The aligning of light materials needs some trial and error to get some feeling for it,
and isn't that intuitive atm as I think, but usable at all

It did not seem to work ... do I have to put a tag on the sphere which is used for the background?
is what I have to change the value to 1 million on the tag or directly on the materials

A Sphere?! there is no need for a sphere, delet it and don't let your scene be covered by any (c4D based) skies or (for c4d kamera) invisible spheres etc.

There still exists a light tag... don't use it!
You have more controls by defining your light via material... so delete the tag(s) and retry rendering
(your HDRI emission materials STILL needs to be set in the render settings as you shown in screenshot in first post)

A sphere can be used but it has to be made editable and its normals reversed

not together with the Envoirement system he used (see screenshots), also the Environment based optimizations etc. don't kick in doing it that way

Just because its possible it doesn't need to be a good way....

sorry seems to the same thing as the first screenshot.
yet I remove the tag, pass the value to 1 million.
I would like to use also provide an image in the background as well as the environment (EXR), is it possible he should use an object in c4d rear plan for the background image?

This is getting to complicated ^^
here is the quickly converted scene, so you see how I managed it.

for a background image you need to create a mesh plane and map your (emitting)image on it.
Most of C4D internal render features like the background Plane isn't working in Indigo.
Most of the faked features also never will work

Indeed, but at least you can use lower values for illumination

Thank you very much for your explanations! I will look very carefully you scene. This will surely light my lantern:)

You can do that for basic background material too, or am I missing the point here

a small sphere has lower area so if you use emission scale you can have lower values
