Should I adapt the design of the material database to this?

What I have now is a blend between the Maxwell site and the V-Ray site...

It's wonderful radiance I like it a lot, yes I think language selection links would be nice at the top near the text size selection links are, something either like flags or like [de] [fr] [es] [it], just an idea....

very very very good radiance!
nothing to crit, except the image behind the indigo logo in the top left
corner - it reminds me too much on the maxwellrenderer site.
I would also remove the rocket on the bottom - you know "nextlimit" ?
