Just a small release this time :)

Win 32 bit:
http://www.indigorenderer.com/joomla/in ... &Itemid=62

changelog:
1.0.6
* made it so that -t overrides all other means of setting num threads (including auto choose num threads)
* fixed bug with render regions having black borders in some cases
* added render_foreground_alpha stuff

To render a foreground alpha map (or whatever you want to call it), set

Code: Select all

"render_foreground_alpha" "true"
in the inifile.txt, or set it in the renderer_settings in the scene file like so:

Code: Select all

<renderer_settings>
	<render_foreground_alpha>true</render_foreground_alpha>
</renderer_settings>

And Indigo will spit out an image like the one attached.

Please report any bugs!

Just some words to avoid confusing ...

1. If render_foreground_alpha is set to "true" then Indigo will render
the alpha channel only and it will overwrite the output file if no other
name is specified. With other words, you need 2 passes! First the
picture itself, then the alpha or the other way around!

2. Bidirectional has to be DISABLED or no working alpha! :P :lol: ;)

... Nik? Would be good if you mention this explicit in your first post. ;o)

edit: *LOOOOOL* bidirectional has to be turned OFF! :P :lol: :D ;)

edit2: And additional, for people that use Photoshop, I can
recommend this action by tom ... could be useful! ;o)

Do you have to do a separate render for alpha or do you get both in one pass?

Hmmm, it's supposed to set bidir to false automatically, but that may cause issues, so just set bidir = false, metropolis = false manually for now.

I did, but i just wanted to be sure. :lol:

@Ono
Would it be too much trouble to make it work in one pass? I get that there is a bidir issue so that's probably a show stopper for one pass, but what are your thoughts on this? If i need twice amount of time to get the alpha for print resolution, then well... you get my point :wink:

@suvakas

:P :P :P :D ;)

Well, ... render the alpha and you'll see it's fast! And if I say fast, I mean
it is very, very fast! So don't worry about the time ...

Of course it would be cool to have it in one pass, or at least the option.
But I'm quite happy as it is right now! :twisted: 8) :oops: :lol: :wink:
