It's called exposure_duration, and it's a camera parameter.
Code: Select all
<exposure_duration>0.5</exposure_duration>

I tried saving out some pics with duration at 5, 0.1, 0.01, and 0.001
and I don't see any difference

@ono
well I mean that is kind of silly
commercial users are not going to bother with a physics degree to hack an .igs file or even have a highschool textbook open on their desks.
I assure you no one with deadlines and budgets is going to bugger around hacking code and scanning through pages of data just to make their visualisation of a speedboat concept float with a bit more sparkle...
This is going to have to work out of the box and be intuitive or people are just going to pass it up for another renderer regardless.
Unfortunately for you these renderers are becoming a dime a dozen..and as I said quite a long time ago I think for various reasons it is unlikely you will see a return on your efforts anyway
I recall some comments from Solidworks users a while ago when I mentioned these type of renderers that they would never use something like Indigo cos it just takes too long...so they are hardly going to make a study of optics to set it up are they?..
Realism is one thing -using it in reality is another.
Commercial people like simplicity ,directness and reliability.
If you want to impress potential buyers you need to tune the features to their needs not your own interests.
As far as exporters go I am of the opinion now that you are selling a SDK people should leave you to develop your own manuals and do promotions with the respective companies who are interested in using Indigo. As radiance commented recently the relationship here is kind of uncertain.
Regarding Blendigo I think we are still quite a way from preset materials.
Good luck to those continuing to provide exporter updates

hmm works now with the testscenes
0.0001 is needed for most well lit scenes with ISO 100
would be nice if you could adjust EV on the fly while Indigo is rendering
and even Exposure Duration

in related links, on the same wiki-page, I found this:
http://www.fredparker.com/ultexp1.htm
If all the exporter writers study that article, you could add exactly such a UEC together with a blur-preview

And the
shutter_open_duration integrated in
Indigo 0.9t1 don't affect the tonemapping result???

hum
try *very* high shutter duration.
My guess is, that it might affect the vignetting or something like that: where as shutter speed is the time, how long the film will get illuminated, the shutter duration is, how long the shutter needs to get from fully opened to fully closed... so, there might be some lighting difference... I dunno, how does the shutter shut? circular? - then, the vignetting effect gets stronger from one side? - then, there will be a lighting difference between one and the other side.
