here is a native linux x64 build of indigo.
I know this posting has been made some time ago, but it doesnt seem to cost a thing just asking
i got access to an cluster, amd64 opteron glib 2.3.6, and tried to run the 64bit-version of your test build from last year. clearly this had to fail since you used glib 2.4 and compiled it with shared libraries so i just wanted to ask whether it would to possible to compile a static build? absolutely not sure how big the results may get..
unfortunatelly wine doesnt work ether since its a 64bit-system..

@deduese
Heya deduese, welcome to the forum!
Probably not what you want, but you could compile wine yourself
on your system, no? ;o))
take care

hi psor and thx
well guess what i tried so.. but the compilation fails because the gcc-toolchain on this specific system only creates 64bit-binaries (wine is a no-go on these systems) and since i'm no sysop (he doesnt care for the 32bit-folks out there) there is also no chance to setup a chroot discribed somewhere on winehq oder something like that :/

Darn, ... that's sad. Hmm, ... hopefully Nik can do something about
the static build at the next stable release then.
May I ask what kinda cluster you've access to? ^^
edit: Have you tried luxrender already?
take care

computing cluster for theoretical physics at my university, iirc 16 x (2x dual-core opteron 2.2ghz 8gb ram each). well sometimes there isnt enough load so lets fill the gap

well.. no
i'm glad to hear that there are more of these state-of-the-art render engines out there.. even better opensource, thx a lot i will definitly give that a try
ups but no offence to indigo, and my request still holds =)

Yupp, ... I just thought until Nik will release something you can use,
why not compile your own little tool so you can fill the gap!
take care

Hi Deduese,
this linux release is pretty crappy anyway, there are some deadlocks in the code.
If you wait for the v1.0.x linux release it should be better.

does this mean that we can expect a very rocking linux built in the pretty near future?

I did once attempt a linux violet build from the c++ version, but it didn't work properly.
The java version will work fine on linux, but it's not finished yet, and I find myself without the time, knowledge or motivation to finish it.
