it's the same, but reversed. you can look at both.

it's like
x
and
1/x
nothing else.

You want to look at the second line. The samples / second (or its inverse seconds /sample) let you know about the speed of the computer.

The second line just tells you how many samples have been rendered per pixel. It tells you more about the quality of the image than the speed of the computer.

Argh! - I got all excited but it doesn't want to run for me - are there some new dependencies that I mightn't have installed?

I'm running Windows XP Professional x64 edition with SP2. No problems with the 32 bit builds, but when I start this build I get:
"The System cannot execute the specified program."

In the System event log I get the following:
SideBySide: Component identity found in manifest does not match the identity of the component reqested
SideBySide: Synax error in manifest or policy file "C:\indigo_09_test4.5_x64\Microsoft.VC80.CRT.MANIFEST" on line 4.
SideBySide: Generate Activation Context failed for c:\indigo_09_test4.5_x64\indigo_console.exe. Reference error message:The manifest file contains one or more syntax errors.

I also tried on a one of the XP x64 work machines, and got the same response.

I've tested the build on my x64 workstation (WinXPx64SP2) and ran into
the same problems ... :/

take care

i can confirm it's working fine here on vista ultimate 64bit, with the latest blendigo exporter.
(I copied the indigo_console.exe to indigo.exe so that the export would find it; it works :) )

64 bits is compiled for 64 bit -> faster.
even before compiling for 64 bits, there where other speedup thingys, post relsase, so -> even faster.

I don't know how to phrase this:

1) Premature optimization is the root of all evil. Period.

2) The link you posted, and the way that you posted it, implies to me that you are not a programmer, or have not been one for long.

Ono is hardly new to C++ - it's almost insulting to post that link. He knows what he's doing in regards to (incredibly simple programming concepts) that. Take a look at the code that he has released for other projects for proof.
