Hi.. any chance there'll be another release, with the new tone mapping options?

what are the chances of integrating this into indigo so you could adjust as you render?

They're as big as the chance, to find a coder, who
1) Is able to
2) Has the time to
3) Wants to
code it. Violet is Open Source....

ok, then what are the chances of Ono or someone on the dev team creating similiar features in Indigo; at least a noise reduction option and possibly a save as button would be nice. Is all the production going to stay focused on the engine, or at some point will it hopefully lean a little towards the interface?
Not that i'm complaining.

There's no dev team.
Ono's the only one, developing Indigo.
Violet an be developed by ANYONE... (as far as he knows, how to)

And Violet already has Noise reduction :P

thanks for clearing up the "dev team" thing i thought it was just Ono but wasn't sure so i didn't want to offend if there where others.

i realize Violet has NR but my point is that i'd like to see this built in to Indigo, that way the NR function would progress hand in hand with Indigo and it would be 1 less program to install. If NR was included with Indigo it would just make it that much more attractive...

So Ono, Is all the production going to stay focused on the engine, or at some point will it hopefully lean a little towards the interface?

NR + Progressive rendering at once? :?
Indigo's images are beautifully sharp. NR would stop them from being so.

I mean NR as a built in option, not an automatic thing.

Yeah, sure.
Any feature is nice to see, as long as the user-friendliness doesn't get affected, so, why not? I'd recommend it for previews only, though (except it's sort of a magic NR, which only removes noise, without affecting the colour or sharpness... - or even with improving the sharpness O.o)

as far as i know, since violet is licensed under the GPL there's no chance violet get included into a closed-source program like indigo (except every one involved in the violet development would give the okay for that)

I've packed a little package for you guys and gals! If you've any problems,
please let me know! 8) :D ;)

edit: Changed Zip from BZip2 to Deflate compression ...

edit2: Updated the package to include all files needed, if the binary
linux version of Indigo is used instead the Win32 binaries.

take care

Java version will be coming soon!

Although presently it has no Diffraction Limited Bloom... but then again Indigo's impelmentation of that is far better anyway.

I can't extract your .zip

Code: Select all

skipping: Microsoft.VC80.OpenMP.manifest `(null)' method not supported
skipping: vcomp.dll `(null)' method not supported
skipping: Violet_v0.3.exe `(null)' method not supported
don't understand why, first time I get it
