It is not the same "approach". Boolean equation is a geometry operator in the 3D modeler software. Slice is more like a clipping plane on an object. (option that you can find in an openGL view) you can chose if the "hole" should be open or capped. In 3ds Max Slice is an other operator thatn Boolean,...

Multi-materials and emitting properties are not linked.
For example here, the result in the model2 is nothing than default "None" emitting properties in the material (be careful to the uids)
so total black image in Indigo.

Hello there,
Could you do something about the Blend + Null material.
Null material is not present in the selection, you have to use an external .igm, but the result give always an invalid one.
It was working in the past.

When this super uber cool feature could work (for real) ?

I have to add and "edit mesh" in the top of the stack to avoid any "Triangle vertex index is out of bounds. "
The nature of the object is jut a box converted in edit poly and edited a bit.
The diference is into the location/position definition and maybe also the mesh itself.

Something weird from my side, maybe an old dll somewhere: I have to comment lot of "new" elements in the settings to be hable to open the result in 3.8.23 even 4.0.47. shadow_pass merging dithering zero_alpha_outside_region receiver_quad far_field_receiver clamp_contributions gpu_max_depth receiver_...

Unfortunatly 3ds Max close it-self very often when I click on Materials (lot of lag)--> Indigo Renderer --> Indigo External

Test avec un sky portal sur la fenêtre.
Les points blanc sont généré par une forte source de lumière. C'est sans doutes ton soleil.
Tu peux changer d'hdri, en prendre une avec plus de nuage par exemple, ça limitera le problème.
