Re: [REQ] Front plane Camera Clipping

Why is not possible? Maxwell has it... Here is one piece of the User Manual Z-clip Planes : Z-clip planes allow you to cut away parts of the geometry in a render by specifying the near and far clipping planes of the camera. This enables you for example to move the camera outside a room, and c...

Re: [REQ] Normal Maps support

Bump maps allow you to reconstruct the (perturbed) normal direction. Normal maps give you the normal direction directly, so it's a bit quicker. I don't think it's only question of speed ... in my case I already have the normal maps , so in order to use them with Indigo, I have to convert them into ...

it really acts like ordinary bump.

My fault, please excuse...
The work around I use, to obtain a Bump Map from a Normal Map, is to extract the "Blue component" and then stretch a little bit the image istogram (offline) but the quality is worse.

No mention to Nomal Maps into Indigo Manual ...

Please explain how to use Normal Maps instead of Bump Maps...

[REQ] Normal Maps support

Hi, is it possible to use "Normal Maps" into indigo? I've tried with a shader in [bump] section but Indogo ask me to write a function with this prototype : "def eval() real" so I dont know how to encode x,y,z... To convert a Normal Map Image color into a Normal vector you can use this formula: N(x,y...

Re: [REQ] Velvet Shader

Hi Ono, I've included this Shader into Povray, this is the result

When the ISL will permit these type of Shaders I'll try to port the Velvet Shader to Indigo

[REQ] Front plane Camera Clipping

Hi, is it possible to add this feature to Indigo? With a front plane camera clipping it is possible to render the inside part of a room without the necessity of removing some wall(s) as we must do now, note that removing walls can alter the reflections of a mirror (reflects black) and diminish the s...

Re: [REQ] Velvet Shader

Hi, I plan to do a bit of work on Indigo shader language (ISL) to allow for stuff like Velvet, thanks for the information! Sorry but I've found a bug into GLSL Shader, now should be fine... GLSL Vertex Shader varying vec4 Ca; varying vec4 Cd; varying vec4 Cs; varying vec4 V_eye; varying vec4...

Hi Ono, I've modified the GLSL code in order to remove the "uniform" for Light's position..

[REQ] Velvet Shader

Hi, I was playing around a Velvet Shader in GLSL derived from the Velvet Renderman Shader written by Stephen H. Westin (see attached file "SHW_velvet.zip"), maybe this can be used by Ono to add a Velvet like material to Indigo  P.S. I've attached the Paper written by Stephen H. Westin ("Stephe...

Note that the demo currently uses only one card  This demo currently uses CUDA (e.g. NVIDIA only), but Chaos Group is looking to possibly port to OpenCL (ATI too) Once a shipping product, the GPU rendering version of V-Ray RT will support distrubuted Rendering The product will support more tha...
