Re: SketchUp 2017
Yes its a worthy upgrade. Much better than the 2015 to 2016 upgrade. For me, the main ones are: Layout is improved and is finally useful. A few tools are better, eg offset doesn't create horrible overlaps. Performance & reliability are improved generally. Now they just need to fix the 3d warehouse! ...

Re: Scattering millions of objects
Hi All I'm still having problems with scattering/instancing. I have tried Indigo 4 and the result is identical. Basically my models are taking many hours to process, before beginning rendering. I accept that my models are fairly large and complex - vegetation is sometimes scattered, which I understa...

Re: Indigo Renderer 4 public beta
I'm rendering the Bedroom scene on my GTX Titan and only getting 1.23 M samples/sec I was getting 0.5M s/s with CPU only. I do have a couple of sketchup windows open. Could they be draining resources? I've noticed my PC has slowed right down and my GPU monitor is reading at max performance so I'm pr...

Re: Scattering during animation
Thanks! Yes that was it - the "Render Only In View" will choose to render the items in direct line of sight of the camera. In scattering, I guess it's the "seed" that defines whether the object is visible or not. I had a scene where the camera was moving past a picket fence. The vegetation (shrubs) ...

Scattering during animation
Hi folks
I'm finally getting around to animating some fly-throughs ...so far so good, except the vegetation I have scattered using the Scatters Editor is re-generating each frame using a different seed.
My seed is set to 0 in indigo - should it be set to something else?
Cheers

Re: Random GPU progress pic thread
Is the R290x the ideal card for this new mode? Or a TitanX ? How a bout multi GPUs? Ideally we could have our CPU exporting frames to a stack of GPUS (eg r290 nano) which are rendering a frame each. If we could export multiple scenes at once (possible from multiple instances of Sketchup/etc), then w...

Re: SU 2016 released
Layout is terrible. I'm sure you can get some good drawings from it, but its clunky and slow and lacking a lot of basic features. But I'm used to Adobe Indesign and Illustrator, so maybe that's being unfair. Layout 2016 looks better...any speed increases are welcome. I'm not sure that making Sketchu...

Re: Wanted: Scatter presets
Thanks Bubs! I kinda liked the grass from the pic with the guy on it, because the grass looked a little darker and had a deeper green colour. As I said, I mistook it for a photo. My two cents. I think that's mostly a difference in camera settings I've used the grass quite a bit and it does look nice...

Re: Scattering millions of objects
Indigo: v3.8.26, 64 bit Skindigo: 3.8.25.3 I'm also facing an issue where the scattering is not respecting the origin point (0,0,0 axis) of the component being scattered. EG, Imagine you have a component tree. Its trunk is above ground and its roots are blow. The component's axis is set to ground le...

Scattering millions of objects
Hi Guys I'm loving the scatter editor. But I'm facing a strange problem when the scattered components become very numerous. From one sketchup model, I could export two scenes . When doing so, I export “selected” thereby ensuring Skindigo doesn’t process unseen/unecessary objects. The first scene, wi...

Re: My new project - SceneVR
Hmm that does sound very cool - I've been using sketchfab a fair bit lately, its very handy.
My model in a nice skydome, in a browser, would be very cool.
Could it have a measuring and markup tool?

Re: Wanted: Scatter presets
Thanks guys..,Yeah the man's pants are a disaster! The model is great - its from Axyz and came with a bump map and everything.... honestly though, setting up materials settings takes far too long for me in Skindigo, and the properties are prone to changing when I alter materials or edit the componen...
