Re: The RANCH renderfarm now supports Indigo!

Hi everyone, Since the installation of our RANCH Runner, we have worked hard to reach a goal: to become the most affordable high performance rendering service on the market. Well, today is the day! We will let you judge if we have succeeded. As we want to be completely transparent about it, here are...

Re: The RANCH renderfarm now supports Indigo!

Hi everyone, if you are a company or a freelance artist doing 3d rendering all year, what would you say if, for a fixed annual fee, you could get unlimited free rendering for a full year on one of the most powerful rendering systems available today? That's exactly what we are proposing with the RANC...

Re: The RANCH renderfarm now supports Indigo!

reply on my test project "tut2" (blitz): "Indigo animation projects are not allowed with the Blitz!" but.. my project isn't an animation... where is the problem!?!?!? That must be because you have several .igs files in your project archive (other than the PACKED ones). In that case the RANCH thinks...

Re: The RANCH renderfarm now supports Indigo!

I have some good news: we have decided to extend our Blitz! promotion for another month. So you can still send free 5-minute projects until March 31 :D

Re: The RANCH renderfarm now supports Indigo!

I have added some new detection methods to catch various kind of errors and output an attached log with the automated error message you get back by e-mail. Some errors that I see frequently concern non standard characters in scenes/textures/etc. This is clearly stated in the guide but here it is aga...

Re: The RANCH renderfarm now supports Indigo!

Hi everyone, I was away for a few days, for urgent matters, and my colleagues were more than busy with important projects, so sorry for the inconvenience some of you (a small minority I may say) may have experienced these last few days. To address some questions, it is clearly said in the Blitz! inf...

Re: The RANCH renderfarm now supports Indigo!

Hi, the Blitz! formula is online and valid until February 28th. The Blitz! is a FREE 5-minute run on the RANCH Runner - that corresponds approximately to a 4 hours render on a 12-core MacPro workstation, or 10 hours on a Core i7 PC. Do not miss it, all the details are here . And did I mention it is ...

Re: The RANCH renderfarm now supports Indigo!

Great! One little thing about the cost estimator: I am missing all actual Mac Pro processor configurations. For example in my case I've got two 2.66 GHz Quad-Core Xeons in my machine... and I can't find any Quad-Core processor in your processor selector. Maybe it would nice if you can update that o...

Re: The RANCH renderfarm now supports Indigo!

Hi everyone, I am pleased to announce that from now onwards, all Indigo projects will be processed on our RANCH Runner. http://www.ranchcomputing.com/images/rr1.jpg The new system is 2.5 to 3 times as fast as the 'old' RANCH (which could hardly be considered slow). You can see some benchmarks here a...

Re: The RANCH renderfarm now supports Indigo!

I'd like to introduce a new function I have implemented for Indigo projects on the RANCH: the near real-time preview. In a few words, the preview lets you see your project while it is being rendered! It does not show all the subtleties of the final image (some reflections may be lost, contrast might...

Re: Thinking of buying Indigo? Let me list some reasons...

Maybe I would add:

Q: Is there commercial renderfarm support for Indigo?
A: Yes... (I let you elaborate)

OK I plead guilty of not being perfectly impartial

But I believe it is an important feature for professionals, and I suppose you all want pros to use Indigo more than they do now...
