Re: scientific reports
Nice thread As Tesla observed, space is just an attribute... it can't be bent. Medium can. Space/distance/volume is without anything else. Even within nothing there's infinitely wast space. From nothing to nothing is immeasurable eternity of nothing. Don't know how but this seems to me perfect logic...

Re: Making the Earth
Nice work. Can look at latest images (couple of days ago) from Earth Polychromatic Imaging Camera: http://epic.gsfc.nasa.gov/ To me it's simple: water IOR + roughness caused by waves (which is never constant, so much noise) ... so as long as it feels 'real' Like in this 'closer' image: http://i.imgu...

Re: exit portals brought into the real world !
That would make sense. By reversed descriptive geometry have calculated ~3m distant light from ceiling portal (no mirrors, euclidean space). So mirrored space above with all the installation & materials (2-3 ray bounces, depends on where light is positioned) roughly makes it ~1 m high. Would like to...

Re: enviroment hdr,exr,tiff ?
here IBL is possible only on phong shader with exr or tiff image in emitter channel set to blackbody (btw you can open hdr & save exr with c4d picture viewer)... & question is: Is this process correct?
'cause whatever i do i can't influence the IBL strength

Light as you see it.
Don't render - simulate.
