Re: gpu renderer doesn´t start anymore

Maybe lights are too weak/disabled/normals reverted or camera set to be too dark?

Re: Instances of parented object export problem

I workarounded this by using parenting, but it doesn't allow quick addition/removal objects in all "parent instances". That bug can make life harder.

AVX and Ryzen?

https://www.forbes.com/sites/antonyleather/2017/02/28/amd-ryzen-new-benchmark-leaks-world-records-intel-price-drops-and-what-to-expect-on-launch-day/#649e92b625df It seems it's really efficient and fast but I've read somewhere that it needs 2 clock cycles per avx instruction. Hope that it will not a...

Re: Instances of parented object export problem

Any chances to fix this (dupli groups) bug?
To replicate (easier way):
- create box
- group it
- shift+a -> group instance -> Group
- select group and alt+d couple of times

Re: Indigo OpenCL the fastest PB Renderer out there?

Actually i think the DOF should be there..considering the scene is 50 mm. And i really like it makes it more realistic to me. But if you change cam settings you should be able to turn it OFF or at least make it not so present/direct....like on a real camera. All things considered...Maxwell is nice....

Isn't that similar to Photon mapping extensions that Indigo will have:

Re: Indigo OpenCL the fastest PB Renderer out there?

At 0 roughness, the Maxwell CPU rendering looks far more realistic than the Indigo CPU one, based on my experience looking at lit glass/acrylic sculptures. There is more detail present and the low contrast gradations look far more realistic. I see lots of blown-out highlights in the Indigo CPU vers...

Re: Indigo OpenCL the fastest PB Renderer out there?

Silverwing: thank you, wasn't aware of that ray depth limit with maxwell gpu, glad haven't upgraded. I wonder why Indigo gives brightest rough glass of all tested engines. Maybe devs will comment it when they come from vacation. Can it be related to really fine resolved caustics it has? And why cycl...

Re: Indigo OpenCL the fastest PB Renderer out there?

Comparing the quality of the Maxwell and Indigo renders based on the transparent dragon image (the left-most one at http://www.silverwing-vfx.de/Download/Convergence_Test/Dragon_02.jpg ), it appears that Indigo is blowing out the highlights. I don't know if this is because Indigo has a more limited...

Re: Indigo OpenCL the fastest PB Renderer out there?

Thank you Silverwing.
In the meantime I wanted to be picky and it seems all are almost same except thea which is sharp. So it will most probably give less noise when set same as others but I really doubt if it will be faster then indigo.

Re: Request: Node Support

@Originalplan®:
I don't have such experience regarding nodes, but they seem to me easier and faster to use due to better control of what I have inside material, specially when blend one is used.
Blender plugin doesn't even now have mat preview so you know...

Re: [REQ] Alpha as separate pass

Hm.. I don't see why you can't just re-composite the sky back in using Foreground Alpha? The alpha pass gets really tricky once you have glass, fog, other transparent materials, etc. How does your color pass then look to compensate for partially transparent pixels? In my experience the foreground a...
