Re: A natural situation
Well, the volume must extend below the clouds range so scattering can happen, ie the cloud box bottom must be dragged down to (or better, below) the floor with some non-zero sss value within.

Re: Indigo Renderer 4 public beta
https://youtu.be/4ldme3vfWE0 Just a tech demo/proof of pipeline/art style for an animated short series I'm using Indigo for. 4 mins a frames with new Indigo 4 GPU rendering. Looks like I'll be dropping some cash on R9 Nano's or possibly Radeon Pro Duo's. My 2 7970's are getting 11M sp/s. I'm guessi...

Re: A natural situation
I have a question, are the god rays created automaticly after the light passes through the clouds ? Or is there a layer of "fog" under the clouds to catch the density of the rays ? God rays are a consequence of scattering, so yes they will appear (at a time cost) if a partially occluded, incoming l...

Re: Indigo Renderer 4 public beta
my scene keeps on crashing past the 3 minutes on indigo. Does Indigo create any minidump, and tells ya about it on the next Indigo start? Sounds for me like overheating issue... open your PC case and retry... (it's already open) I even go to the extent of pausing it, wait some time and 'unpause' it...

Re: One light and two shadows!
The reason is tricky to explain, better if you do it yourself: animate the rotation of the shape clockwise around its center.
The vertical portions of the emitting half-thing are catching up with the vertical legs. It should show up if you rotate either.

Re: One light and two shadows!
I remember I used an open portion of a torus for lighting (from the inner side) and got similar results. Curvilinear lightings seem to do this. area lights aren't one only light, but a multitude of small lights... They used to be, and not with Indigo anyway ? It's real surface emission nowadays isn...

or ask exporter writers to invert the color the user has picked for absorption
another melti win (where absorption color inversion is an option)

Re: Indigo Renderer 4 public beta
That's a telltale that the bump value is too strong, and that it points to the displacement realm rather. Basically, if you have black zones away from the terminator (edge of shadow) when using bump, then you are doing it wrong. I understand that the here material is reflective though. I know that w...

Re: Indigo Renderer 4 public beta
I think that the luminosity of images should be compared too, or tonemapping matched better. A darker image will reveal more isolated 'hot' pixels and look noisier on the average surface.
It's a very tricky topic I think, and I use Indigo only.
