Re: IMPORTANT POLL: Continuing support for Blender 2.49

I've been dragging my feet in loading up 2.5x. I'm really reluctant to take on change or a major update. That's the only reason I voted for 2.49.

Re: Missing or clipping polys during export

Thank you for the hint. I will check it out after I submit my competition entry.

I discovered that whatever I did, it was very, very recent. The backup .blend for that scene had no problems and I was able to continuing working off of that with no clipping issues.

Re: Missing or clipping polys during export

Yeah, that render is from Indigo. Moving Blender's camera clipping was one of the first things I tried.

Missing or clipping polys during export

I was well on my way to submitting an entry in this month's competition with the extended deadline. But I just hit a huge stumbling block the other night and I can't figure out what I did wrong. For some reason, almost all of the textures and most of the objects outside of a small space have disappe...

Re: December 2010 Competition - Steampunk (extended to Jan 9

I would definitely submit an entry if the deadline was extended at least another week.

The MLT Feature page still appears to be broken. I haven't come across any others yet.

Re: First redered pics

Wow, definitely much better than what I could hope to do - now or ever. Very nice render. The only things that I'd try to tweak would be the cloned CD stacks. As alluded to earlier, they inadvertantly catch your eye. I don't know about existing textures for baseboards. But the RL baseboards that I'v...

Re: About 10 Indigo lifetime licences left

Oh, no. I've been looking all around for the last two weeks for any news about how many lifetime licenses were left. I couldn't find any definitive info anywhere. I was mulling over springing for one before most of the holiday shopping got underway.

Re: Glass errors

Ah, thank you for the tip! :D Before I started redoing the mesh and completely changing the glass thickness, I did a quick experiment with the exponent for the nudge. That did the trick!

Re: Glass errors

It is very, very thin (I'm not sure how to quantify it, otherwise). Before I exported the refined control mesh out of Silo, I double-checked to make sure that thickness was consistent enough so that the inside polys didn't go outside and vice-versa.

Glass errors

Here's a sample of some odd artifacting that I've encountered trying to create glass bottle. The raw cube inside the bottle is just a backdrop to make the artifacting more visible. I vaguely recalled that someone else had this same issue before, but I wasn't able to find how they solved it when I se...

Already plan on going, if it opens here anytime soon.

There have been plenty of good reviews already. Some of the more credible or intelligent reviewers have picked up on the characters' emotional development and the movie's homage to early films, including Chaplin's silents and early talkies.
