Re: Has anyone made a UV (ultraviolet) light material?
I have tried by setting an emitter with tabulated values, emitting only at the low limit of Indigo wavelength range (400nm). Results were quite poor, the color render was pinkish, which is likely caused by the observers & sRGB gamut (and possibly my monitor too) Also, one thing that makes UV (un fac...

Re: Coated glass models - SGG/Glare development
New material posted : Cool-Lite ST 150 http://www.indigorenderer.com/materials/materials/1070 This is a more simple coating for solar control in buildings. It has no thermal insulation functions, but provides shading and can be used in single glazing units, provided it is not on the outside of the b...

Re: Coated glass models - SGG/Glare development
Yes, it seems that exporters are not able to cope with unknown tags currently. Only way would be using linked igm at the moment.
CTZn : If I upload a igm file with no medium, would it be ok? That's actually a simple solution

Re: Coated glass models - SGG/Glare development
I'm too dumb for that description. Could you please upload a simple drawing with arrows and selections and material names and such? :-)) Thank you very very much in advance! A small drawing is always better than a long speech! DGU.JPG Green = SGG Planilux (raw glass) material Red = SKN 165 (coated ...

Re: Coated glass models - SGG/Glare development
Etienne, I sent you a PM around these lines already: is it worth/possible for exporters writers to implement a private_data tag for embedded SGG presets (media and materials being defined separately) ? It seems to me that the license does not allow for this currently... I am not even sure wether th...

[Req] Links in material database
Hello,
When inserting links to the forum in the material database descriptions, they are not displayed as links. This would be very helpful for provinding users with useful "howto" informations by linking to the forum, or project renders using this material

Please find below the link to the first material: http://www.indigorenderer.com/materials/materials/1069 How to make a correct SKN 165 window model: The product must be assembled in a double glazing unit configuration. This consists in two glass pane of thicknesses ranging from 6mm to 10mm. The two ...

Re: Printing Advice Needed
Well, even based on your own link, CMYK has a smaller gamut than even sRGB. Whatever it gains in cyan-green, it looses in magenta-purple, so I wouldn't make absolute statements here... Well, my point was about some CYMK colors that are clamped when displayed on a sRGB monitor when using a correct c...

This will not work in many cases. If the camera axis is horizontal or tilted up, doing so will also mask part of the sky and alter the lightingcotty wrote:You can insert a simple surface which covers the background...

Coated glass models - SGG/Glare development
Dear Indigo users, During these last two years, Saint-Gobain Glass R&D worked with Glare on architectural coated glass rendering. We developed specific proprietary material models to provide an exact description of the complex interactions between the coating and the glass. You can find example imag...

Re: Request : Switch to disable dispersion globally
It cannot be an exporter feature, as this would not work with linked igms (All my glass materials have tabulated data and are not supported by exporters, so they need to be externally linked) Also, disabling dispersion for previewing, may imply re-enabling it for the final render, and this would be ...

Re: Official measured glass materials from Saint-Gobain
Fantastic materials! I love how you modified the preview scene; is that a 6mm thick pane of glass? This is a 4mm pane of glass. 4mm is more used in private homes, 6mm and above in commercial buildings and glass facades. For these tinted glasses, rarely used in private homes, 6mm might have been mor...
